Smart textiles can monitor body functions such as heart rate, respiration, and muscle fatigue. They can also monitor your health, and the healing of wounds, and respond to changes in the temperature and other outside stimuli

Bio-Based Fabrics
A bio-based material includes materials intentionally made from substances derived, either wholly or partially, made from living organisms, such as plants, microorganisms, algae, bacteria and yeast. Textile fibers and fabric is currently being made from mushrooms, algae and discarded pineapple waste.
