Activity 3: Spinning Demonstration (10 minutes):

  1. Show how raw fibers are spun into yarn using a spinning top or drop spindle.
  2. Explain the importance of spinning in the textile production process.

Discussion (5 minutes):

  1. Ask students to share their weaving projects and discuss what they learned.
  2. Review the steps involved in transforming raw materials into textiles.

Conclusion:

  1. Summarize the key points: the origins of cotton and wool, the production process, and the basics of weaving and spinning.
  2. Encourage students to think about the textiles they use every day and where they come from.

Assessment:

  • Evaluate students' participation and engagement in activities.
  • Assess their understanding through their ability to explain the production process and their completed weaving projects.
