This section is under development. Textile Workforce Development programs provide existing and new workers with the skills necessary to be successful and meet the changing needs of the textile industry. The Textile Gateway is actively looking to partner with workforce programs to guide students to internships, apprenticeship, skills training programs, and scholarships provided.
Partnership with the Advanced Textile Association - The Textile Gateway is currently a partner with the Advance Textile Association (ATA) and their Workforce Development Council (WFC). The WFC represents any company employing machine operators in the fabrics industry. The Council works to build the sewing and manufacturing workforce. Members have the opportunity to shape training curricula in their regions and find trained, certified employees to build their business. The Workforce Development Council provides a network to exchange information, solve common problems and develop mutually beneficial relationships
Steve Schiffman, President and CEO, Advanced Textiles Association (ATA), stated, "We are very excited to partner with the Textile Gateway and support their education and outreach programs. Workforce development in the textile industry is a critical initiative and one that requires collaboration between textile related trade associations, other like-minded organizations and industry partners."
